I told you I was going to have chicken rice on Thursday, didn’t I? Well, I did just that. I always pour extra soy sauce over the chicken and rice. After that, the first thing I do before plunging in is to spread that garlicky, gingery chilli sauce all over the chicken. Then I have a sip of the soup, and then I dig in. I’m sure watching me suck on those chicken bones is a horrible sight.

And here’s the soup that comes with the rice. I love this chicken broth. It’s something I can never be bothered to make. I know it’s easy enough, but somehow, stuff that involves whole animals (in this case, a chicken) and lots of bones and big pots (in this case, a big pot) … nah, I get lazy. Besides, hainan chicken rice is only $5.50!

“garlicky, gingery chilli sauce”
Do you have any idea what it’s called, assuming the name isthe same here in the States. It looks interesting and sounds delish.
Thanks!
B’gina, to be honest, I don’t know. I just know it’s a gingery and garlicky variety of chilli sauce. I’ll ask my mum next time I talk to her and see if she has any more info.
