Max is crazy about Thomas the Tank Engine, and so he absolutely loved his birthday cake. You may see a tiny bit missing from the picture in the middle. That’s because little hands got to it before I could take the photo :).

I didn’t have a whole slice of cake to myself; I just had a couple of bites of Jac’s. It was very nice, with jam and custard in the middle. The kids went nuts over the Smarties. I’ve never liked Smarties myself because I find them too flat, and their outer shell to be too thick and too hard. I much prefer M&Ms.

Family and friends can see the people photos (mainly of the kiddies) at my Flickr site.

Nice pics, the more I read you blog and the more I wish I could go to Australia at least so that we could hang out and eat :).
Heheh Damon Z, oh well. If you ever make it over here… :)
Hi, the chicken pie looks yummy. But if you want to reheat it the next day and you want it really crunchy, just put a tiny amount (like 3 drops) of olive oil in a frying pan and heat on low for about 4-5 minutes, flip and give it another 4-5. It’s crispier than the day it was made.
Perchance did you experience green feces after partaking of the cake? Blue food colouring will do that.
Susan in Italy, thanks for the tip. I can’t see myself having the patience to reheat pies that way, but you never know :)
animaterra, sorry to disappoint you, but I didn’t notice. I don’t think I ate enough cake to affect the colour of my poo anyway.
