More junky weekend food

30 June 2006

We went to the shops on Saturday morning so I could check my PO Box and withdraw money from an ATM. We decided to have a junky breakfast. Jac opted for a pie and chips from Jesters Pies. The hot chips at this particular Jesters are really good as they tend to cook them to ...

30 June 2006

We both ordered from the Straits Malacca Cuisine stall at the food hall. C ordered the pan mee. It looked really good – lots of pork, fish balls and two crispy fried wantan, which C said were really good.

I ordered the claypot chicken rice. When I ate this back in August last year it was ...

Tokyo Drift, Part 1

30 June 2006

Yesterday, I met up with C to see The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Some time ago when we realised we loved both The Fast and the Furious films, we agreed that we’d catch the next one together when it came out. C patiently waited until semester was over and I was free (thanks, ...

The chicken curry was really simple – chicken thighs, onion, green beans and carrots cooked with Yeo’s Malaysian mild curry sauce.

I blanched the bok choy in boiling water for about a minute and a half, then drained it and served it ...

Favourite yummies

30 June 2006

Last night, C and I went to see The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. After that we had a tasty food hall dinner. But before I get to that, I have some catching up to do.

Jac grabbed some takeaway from that very same food hall recently. Among the goodies she brought home were these ...

Laksa lunch

30 June 2006

I only went to uni once this week – Wednesday, because I had a meeting with my supervisor. The meeting went well. She’ll be away for the next month or so and hopefully while she is gone I will be very productive and have something resembling a chapter (the last one, weeeeeeeeee!) to show her ...

Menu organiser

25 June 2006

Oh! Before I tackle the dishes – during the week a surprise package arrived for us from our friends L and D from England (soon to be our friends L and D from NSW, Australia, yay!): a very cool menu organiser! That’s another of my chores today – to organise our collection of discount coupons ...
