Exhausting Saturday

31 July 2006

I would’ve posted this on Sunday but I felt too tired to do anything really. Let me share my exhausting Saturday with you!
We went to the shops on Saturday morning because we had a few unexciting things to do, like go to the post office. Of course, we were starving, having been really slow to ...

Is it that late already?!

29 July 2006

A quick update for those who were interested (thank you for the tips!): I bought us tickets to the Dixie Chicks just a short while ago via a Ticketek presale link kindly shared by a fan at a Dixie Chicks forum I joined this evening. Jenna, the AOL Sessions videos you told me about were ...

Curry on a rainy day

27 July 2006

The university is auditing rooms around campus for the rest of the year. I could been an auditor again but declined this time around to focus on my thesis. I’d love the extra money, but if I am to stay on track for a mid-February submission I can’t afford to take on any new distractions. ...

Margaritas and HJ's Breakfast (not together! hahaha)

23 July 2006

Oh, I forgot to mention that between the wedding and the reception we went back to Sascha and Dave’s place, located at very convenient close proximity to the church. Last week we scored a big bag of lemons from some friends and Jac decided it would be a good idea to have margaritas between wedding ...

Lou and Dan's wedding, Part 3

23 July 2006

Dessert was also buffet-style, with cheese and cracker platters, fruit platters and slices of chocolate cake and a big bowl of serve-yourself cream. I was able to sneak back to the table after everyone had been up for the first round and take this shot of a surprisingly intact fruit platter:

Jac got herself a plate ...

Lou and Dan's wedding, Part 2

23 July 2006

Well, obviously I could really only just photograph my own plate. I made sure to place the food there reasonably neatly. I took photos around the plate as well as one whole-plate shot. Here’s the first part-plate shot, featuring roast beef, roast turkey (both with gravy) and ham (from that big cold meat platter). ...

Lou and Dan's wedding, Part 1

23 July 2006

Lou and Dan’s wedding reception was held at Melville Glades Golf Club. Having eaten only a chicken pie for breakfast and some turkish bread and tzatziki dip at Sascha and Dave’s between wedding and reception, I was absolutely ravenous. Once we’d sat down at our table, my bread roll promptly made friends with my tummy.

When ...

Friday chicken dinner

23 July 2006

Friday night dinner was roast chicken, roast potato and coleslaw.

Jac made the coleslaw, with Kraft coleslaw dressing.

The chicken was rubbed in barbecue marinade powder and then roasted.

The potatoes were cut in half and roasted under the chicken, which sat on a metal rack so that its juices and fat could drip down as it cooked. ...

Friday lunch date

23 July 2006

On Friday I had a lunch date with Jac. It wasn’t exactly a planned lunch date; Jac had taken a long lunch so that she could go to the shops and buy a new jacket to wear to the wedding – I asked her if she’d be able to take me to the optometrist so ...

Cheese and salami pretzoo

23 July 2006

This was a savoury snack Jac brought home recently – a cheese and salami pretzel (AU$4.30), from a new pretzel place called Pretzoos. When you select your hot savoury pretzoo, you will be given the choice of having it brushed with melted butter or garlic butter. Jac chose butter on this occasion. It was really ...
