Two dinners and naughty Pixel (again!)

31 August 2006

Tuesday night’s dinner: hoisin chicken and vegetable stir-fry. The sauce consisted of hoisin sauce, soy sauce and chilli sauce (the chilli sauce was a garlicky one leftover from our last trip to Spencer Village). The chicken was boneless skinless thighs. The vegetables were onion, garlic, cauliflower, carrot, broccoli and mushroom. Tasty tasty.

Last night’s dinner: a ...

You may have noticed the site’s been down for a bit this evening. I’ve been tinkering. This is a test post to reassure myself that the problems have been fixed.

100% food, 0% thesis crap

28 August 2006

Damon Z, this post is dedicated to you! :)

This was a recent breakfast: a panfried ham steak, scrambled eggs and a slice of multigrain toast with strawberry spread.

And a recent junky lunch, of KFC Original Recipe chicken (my favourite two pieces to have, a drumstick and a thigh), soggy chips (as usual) and coleslaw. ...

Jac's french chicken recipe

28 August 2006

Maile asked me for the recipe for the creamy chicken with mushrooms that Jac made recently. Sorry it took so long, but finally I got her to recall what she did (remember, she just made it up to use the leftover cream – there was no actual recipe). So here goes. Amounts, times etc. are ...

More curry

27 August 2006

Last week, Jac made a Thai green chicken curry with onions, sugar snap peas and baby corn. I really like zucchini in my green curry, but we didn’t have any :-(. She used a jar of Asia At Home Thai green curry paste. Really easy and delicious.

I have to work on my chapter today. I ...

Another good day for curry

21 August 2006

Lunch today at uni was steamed rice with chicken curry and vegetable curry. The vegetable curry had yummy pieces of fried tofu in it, which I really enjoyed. The chicken curry was tasty as usual. As you can see, I had lots of curry gravy on the rice too.

I have half a chapter I’m very ...

Dinner at The Witch's Cauldron -The Sweet

21 August 2006

Pattycakes loves sweets, and we encouraged her to order whichever dessert took her fancy. She ordered the banana and passionfruit crepes. They came with a plump strawberry garnish and a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream. I had a mouthful – it was beautiful! Really REALLY sweet and passionfruity-bananary.

Jac ordered the trio ...

Dinner at The Witch's Cauldron – The Savoury

21 August 2006

Yesterday, we took Jac’s mum (we call her Pattycakes) out to dinner at The Witch’s Cauldron in Subiaco for her birthday. We started off with a drink each: a glass of house red for Pattycakes, a glass of cranberry juice for Jac and a glass of Diet Coke for me. Yeah yeah yeah boring! I’ll ...

Sunday lunch – Hungry Jack's

20 August 2006

Jac said she dreamed about Hungry Jack’s last night and she woke up this morning craving a Bacon Double Cheeseburger Deluxe. She had to go into work for a couple of hours this morning and on her way home she picked us up some HJ’s for lunch.

She always has her Bacon Double Cheeseburger Deluxe with ...

My Saturday

20 August 2006

Yesterday morning I went to the dentist to get those two fillings done. One of them was on one of my molars, right at the back of my mouth. The dentist had a hard time working in that tight spot and accidentally grazed the inside of my cheek with one of his tools (the dental ...
