We went to the first day of the Royal Show, on Saturday. Yes, on footy Grand Final day. Jac wanted to go then because she thought a lot of people would be watching footy instead of going to show, so it would be less crowded. Initially, I refused to go on Saturday because I did want to watch the footy, but the pedigree cats were on show and I did want to see that too. In the end I decided I could live with not watching the match as long as I could listen to the match on my little radio.
We were at the show from around 9:30am until 6:30pm. It was a great day, but so exhausting. We ate some really delicious food. But that’s coming up later. For now, here are some general show shots to get you in the mood.
Here we have Kanga vehicles, a big blue doggie prize, cute footstools (Hamtaro! Cool!), motorbikes and the entrance of the Davis Cat Pavilion.

Next, one of many clown booths (with upside-down Simpsons dollies), a wall of cuteness, and rides – The Ranger is an oldie. I knew these boys at high school who went on The Ranger after eating Hungry Jack’s Whoppers and, well, let’s just say it turned out much messier than expected. I never go on rides as I am prone to motion sickness. The one you see below called The Rage was insane! The people on it are actually going backwards (and screaming, of course!).

That damned Crazy Frog found his way to the Show.

And of course there were trillions of showbags. Jac got a Bertie Beetle Bonanza bag (with 15 Bertie Beetles in it!) and a Jack Link’s Beef Jerky showbag (yes, seriously!) for herself. We got a Thomas the Tank Engine showbag for Max, a Lil Bratz showbag for Savannah, Bertie Beetle Gold for Juji and Jay (yes, for you guys, plus another sweet surprise! hee hee).

More photos coming up.

We went to Perth Royal Show last Saturday. I bought several show bags too fro my kiddies. They got Thomas, Hot Wheels, Hello kitty and little pony. They have tonnes of fun at the kiddy rides. I have time eating. I love those lamb stall. We bought several lamb shank. Eat like Flinstone.
flower, we were at the show the same day!
You are right about the lamb shank! Very brontosaurus indeed.
Aww.. I love the show. And I can’t understand how you could miss the Grand Final. It was amazing. And we won!
Kate, I know… I did listen to it though. I walked around like a zombie listening to my headphones and Jac gave up trying to talk to me, especially during the final quarter. When we won I shouted out YES!!!!!!!!! and a guy came up to me and said “Who won?” and I said “EAGLES!” and he turned to his girlfriend and did a little dance and said “YES! YES! YES!” It was very funny.
That is very funny. I love the Show. My kids always want about a dozen showbags each.
Laura, heh. Glad we don’t have kids. It’s expensive enough with just us two, and me not even wanting show bags!
