Kate, I was very conscious of being spat on because on a previous season of The Amazing Race a guy got spat on in the face by a grumpy alpaca (but he was trying to force it to move when it didn't want to). Maybe if I'd gotten too close with the camera I might've copped it. They did watch my every move very carefully.

I remember, when I was younger, I met an alpaca at a farm, and it spat on me. My brother used to call them eyepatchers. I love them.
The emus are gorgeous too.

Simone,
Thanks for the Pet Xpo link. I'll show Jac.
I plan to go to the Show again in 5 years' time, but I don't know if I can wait that long before my next HOT BUTTERED CORN! :)

plume,
the munching alpaca might be a youngster, but I'm pretty sure the other one (Whatchoo lookin' at?) was an adult. But then I'm no alpaca expert. They DO have cute round heads, don't they? All woolly and cushiony.

Pet Xpo - PCEC - 17 to 19 November
http://www.petxpo.com.au/perth/index.php

And Wild about Animals Expo the week before at Claremont Showgrounds. Don't have any details for this yet, so at the moment the Pet Xpo sounds best.

Loved the food post, sooo jealous! I had my first dagwood dog and corn on a cob there last year, mmmmm! We always enjoy the baked spuds too (though not the one with coleslaw!)

Katie, they really were sweet little things, really friendly.

Simone,
Oooh, pet expo! Do you know when exactly that will be? Our plan is to go to the Royal Show only every five years or so. We end up spending so much money it's not funny.
No worries at all, link away! Hope you like the food post.

Awww, so cute! (except the marron and fish)
Animals are my favourite part of the show. We aren't going this year though have gone two years in a row already.
Might go to the pet expo coming up in November though!

Thanks for the posts, and am looking forward to the food one too!
I have linked to them from my post about the Royal Show at Enjoy Perth, hope that's ok!
