On Thursday I had char kway teow ($8.50) from the Chinese stall next to Gelatino in the Subiaco Pavillion Markets. It was just like the Singapore fried bee hoon I had there recently, lots of fried egg, chicken, fish cake and three plump, bursty prawns.

Scrambled eggs and bagel

I made breakfast this morning – scrambled eggs served with toasted bagels. Jac spread a little cream cheese on her bagel, and I had butter and honey on mine. It’s surprising how well a bagel spread with butter and honey goes with scrambled eggs!
