The rain chose the venue

30 July 2007

At lunch time today, workmate Chad and I went for a walk – she needed to drop by the bank before we grabbed a bite to eat. It had been raining pretty much all day, but while we were in the bank it started to rain REALLY heavily, absolutely pelting down, and because of the ...

HJs for breakfast

30 July 2007

This morning I would’ve had a slice of meatloaf for breakfast, but for some reason I felt kind of nauseous this morning, at the time I would normally have eaten breakfast before leaving home for work. Luckily my stomach settled down by the time I got to Subiaco, and I decided to grab ...

Just add chicken

30 July 2007

We made last night’s dinner out of a box – Patak’s Butter Chicken Kit purchased from Woolworth’s Supermarket – just add chicken! Making the meal was easy peasy – we just followed the instructions. Jac browned 500g of chicken and then added the butter chicken sauce mix and let it simmer for 15 minutes ...

Meatloaf and baked beans

30 July 2007

I am so in love with this meatloaf! We ate it again for brunch on Sunday morning. This time I ate mine with baked beans. Jac made herself a messy, chunky meatloaf sandwich (sorry, no photo). I wonder if there’s any more meatloaf in the fridge. I hope Jac didn’t take the last of ...

Peri-peri chicken…

Shepherd’s pie…

Stir-fried vegies…

My plate ...

Friday night pizza

28 July 2007

We knew the weather would be crappy last night – I’d watched the sky turning greyer all day peeping through the blinds at my window, and when I’d gone out to get my lunch the wind was picking up and getting pretty gusty. I got drenched on the way home walking from the train. ...

Not a particularly interesting food week

28 July 2007

It wasn’t a particularly interesting food week. Most days I actually thought it was a pain in the bum having to stop and eat. I did eat, of course – I wasn’t about to risk having hunger pains to deal with on top of anything else, but I didn’t have time to really enjoy ...

Beautiful cake

28 July 2007

We’ve had a uni student doing an internship with us for the past four weeks or so, and Thursday was her last day. We got her a box of handmade choccies from Taffy’s and presented her with a certificate of appreciation, thanking her for all her efforts during four challenging weeks. That morning, as ...
