Any excuse to indulge!

We had a team meeting on Friday afternoon last week, and as a treat for the troops and to say welcome to new person J, my boss purchased a selection of pastries and tartlettes from Chez Jean Claude Patisserie. I’ve featured these before, but I never get tired of gazing at these gorgeous little pastries and tartlettes. Oh, and I never get sick of eating them too. The ones topped with coffee beans are coffee flavoured mini eclairs. In the top row are vanilla slices. On the next row are fruit tartlettes, followed by lemon curd, and lemon meringue.

I think it’s so cool that my colleagues are all such foodies! We really enjoyed these.

I ate two items – a fruit tartlette…

…and a vanilla slice. I ate this at my desk later.

those éclairs look funny to me, why did the pâtissier cut them? here in France they only drill a little hole at one end of the éclair and fill it with the delicious cream.

one day my grandpa took me to a chocolatier and bought me a chocolate éclair filled with the softest and most chocolate-y cream i’ve ever tasted.

TFP, am I right to say that you are more of a salt than a sugar person??

Sure you do post about desserts from time to time but something tells me you prefer your pizzas to your pastries..

Hi TFP. I’ve been reading for a while and meaning to comment for ages. I’ve finally found time to de-lurk!

Love these photos of the tartlettes – I am a big fan of Jean-Claude’s too. Their baguettes are so yummy. Haven’t been there for a while since we’re living overseas, but I’m looking forward to going back when we are living in Perth again – and trying out all your haunts too!

lil,
I can’t answer as you’ve questioned the pâtissier’s technique, which I have nothing to do with – sorry! :)

Bitsy,
Yes! I am more of a savoury than sweet person. I have eaten more sweet things than previously since I began my current job. My workmates are into all food, but really do love their sweeties!

Hank,
:)

Guera,
Hi! Great you decided to de-lurk!
That’s something to look forward to, then! I’ve had a chicken and avocado baguette from JC’s before too, my gawd, that was tasty!
