Jac made a delicious pasta sauce with tomato paste, lamb mince, mushrooms and spinach. She served it with pasta spirals. It was meaty and rich and lip-smackingly good. I loved the flavour of the lamb, and Jac left some of the mince quite chunky on purpose (yum!), but my favourite part of this sauce was the spinach. Mmmmm.

I’ve only ever eaten lamb maybe three times. Its expensive as hell here but I bet it tastes like greatness in spaghetti!
mmmmm…dishes like this make me wish my husband liked mushrooms…i’m just gonna have to come stay with you and Jac and eat mushrooms all the time, lol ;)

Do you know where Jac got the Lamb’s mince from? I am in Perth also, and have been after Lambs mince for ages, but can’t seem to find it anywhere …

@ jetgirl: yeah, i know what you mean. i come from a country where lamb is pretty pricy as well, but since i’ve started studying in australia i’ve really enjoyed both cooking and eating it. :)
wow tfp, i’m definately inspired to cook this for next week! i’ve never thought of putting spinach in pasta somehow…the photo alone is enough to convince me to give it a try!
My favorite part of any meal with spinach is the spinach. I can eat that every day!

Lamb and pasta, never tried it. The pics look as good as ever. Cooked spinach is amazing. Would it be possible to put cheese with this?

Lamb (and lamb mince) can be expensive here too, but we do get it regularly as we really like it.

LOL. I’m glad Jac loves mushrooms as much as I do, as she’s happy to include LOTS of mushrooms in dishes she cooks.

She gets our meat either from Woolworths or random butchers at whatever shopping centre she may be at. Woolworths definitely has lamb mince.

Agreed. We could have tried it with rocket (our name for arugula over here) – but I think Jac prefers spinach. I like both!

Spinach is fantastic in pasta sauce. But don’t put it in too early or it will overcook and end up as mush!

There’s no real recipe for this, as Jac just made it up, but I will try and ask her what she did. If I manage to extract a “recipe” from her I will post it.

Yes, cheese would go very well. I just don’t eat cheese on pasta because I get gluggy from too much dairy. Such a shame, as I love cheese!
