Jac cooked up pork and leek sausages and some honey and soy chicken kebabs, all bought from the supermarket. The kebabs looked very black and I feared they were burnt – but they tasted great!
She toasted bread rolls and I buttered them. We piled onions, mushrooms and sausages on top. She also baked tomatoes in the oven, and we had lettuce and corn to go with the meats. I took my chicken off the skewers so it would be easy to eat, with a fork or with fingers. :) I know chicken on a skewer is supposed to be fairly easy to eat, but I’d rather not bother with skewers. I always end up with smears of food on my face when I eat skewered meats. :-P

Wow! :-p I’d like to set my chompers into that feast, lol!
Mushrooms generally do not appeal to me at all, but how Jac prepares them does look appetizing.
Lovign that it’s bbq weather again!
Hey TFP,
Just read your Chinese New Year visiting the Aunties post. I hope 2009 didn’t treat you and Jac too badly.Hope you’re both ok. Nearly there!
OH the sausages and mushrooms look amazing! Just the right amount of onion…
Everything looks delish. I can’t decide what I like the look of most, but the skewers look great. I love eating skewered food. Shish kebabs, satay, fishballs or cuttlefish balls on sticks… mmm. Anything on a stick is pretty tasty to me, in general.
LOL I know what you mean about getting it all over your face, but I do like the playful element of wrestling food off a skewer with my teeth ^_^ Good to see you had generous quantities of onions and mushrooms !! I think the over-dark looking ( but fine tasting ! ) thing comes with the honey-soy marinade/coating thing – I’ve done that a few times with meat myself and its looked a bit alarming but tasted great.
Hey tfp – sorry it’s been so long. Those look SO yummy.
What a tasty barbecue style dinner! I can see Jac’s healthy touch, arranging the dinner on all that salad!
By the way, is that chicken in a soy marinade… or is it soy chicken (fake meat)?
My kind of meal! And, your pics are great.
