Krispy Kremes

December 14, 2009

in Takeaway

Jac brought home from Melbourne a big box of Krispy Kreme donuts. Unfortunately, the movements of their journey caused them to shift around in the box, bumping into one another, and some of the icing/glazing even began to melt (it was a very warm night). Still, it didn’t stop me from enjoying them the next day! We kept a few for ourselves at home and Jac encouraged me to take the rest in to work to share with my donut-loving workmates, who didn’t mind the donuts’ slightly battered appearance – they were greatly appreciated and devoured with pleasure! My favourite this time around was the green iced one – the limited time only lemon and lime donut.

I usually like my Krispy Kremes in their purest, simple glazed form…but I also really like the idea of putting a few varieties in a box and shaking them up this way. You’ll get a little of every donut in every bite!

I have a weird doughnut fetish of sorts. I like to get the glazed Krispy Kremes (when I can get them) cut them in half and place a slice of leg ham in between – sort of like a bagel. Have tried it with proscuito, ham and polony. Ham is the best. Very strange I know – I guess it’s the same as the yanks putting maple syrup on there bacon. Sweet and meat. Just delish!

Tamz,
Aw, thanks! Heheheh.

Lisa,
Hahahah. Awesome! If only we had that option over here. Alas, flying to Sydney or Melbourne just to get a Krispy Kreme seems rather indulgent and expensive! LOL.

Malcolm,
My favourite is the original glazed, but I do like trying the different flavours too.

Kevin,
Along the lines of this? Pork doughnut sandwich Mmmmmm. Or this: Krispy Kreme bacon cheeseburgers.
