Barbecue chicken with coleslaw, then with Indomie

December 31, 2009

in Home cooking

Lunch – barbecue chicken and coleslaw from the supermarket. The chicken with salty skin, meat falling off the bones, finger-sucking good.

Dinner – Indomie mi goreng, the original flavour. We had some chicken left over from lunch. I took the meat off the bones, zapped it in the microwave, then served it with the noodles for our dinner.

Hey you should totally appreciate your supermarket roast chicken in Oz. When I moved to London I realised they didn’t have it here (they have roast chicken but it’s cold) and when I was back in Oz earlier this year one of the first things I did was buy a chicken from Coles and ate the whole thing. they are SO good and great value for what $6? and that feeds two! Happy new year TFP!

Happy new year, catty and Cindy!
catty, don’t worry, I DO appreciate the supermarket BBQ chooks. We’ve had many a great meal featuring one of these chooks… and they make great sandwiches the next day too.

catty, supermarket roast chickens do exist here. they’re definitely at SPAR (although i dunno how common SPAR is in london), and tesco sell them for sure. my dad brings them home all the time when he’s on cooking duty!

happy new year, TFP.

The instant noodles look delicious… I just spotted Indomie noodles at my local Asian market and have been meaning to get a package to try.

Oh, I hope you do/did! Most people I know who have tried them think they’re delicious, even if they don’t end up a pantry staple (as Indomie is in our household).
