On a weekend a few weeks ago, Jac fried ham steaks for both of us. She fried me one egg, sunny side up (I asked for one egg instead of my usual two). She poached herself a couple of eggs, and with a packet of instant hollandaise sauce and a sprinkling of fresh parsley, made herself eggs benedict. We had toast and tomatoes too. I made us a cup of tea each to wash it down.
Pixel tends to sit at the breakfast table with us, while Billy Lee is quite happy watching from a distance.
New TFP site update
**The work continues on the new TFP site. There’s just not enough time left in the day on weeknights after work and dinner. It’s slow progress, but I will get there!**

I'm TFP, a food blogger from Perth, Western Australia.

hahah Pixel seems to be really concentrating on the catalogue. Almost slightly disgusted at the prices? hehe
Looking forward to your new site!!
billy lee looks SO INTELLECTUAL and sage-y :P
“This is Pixel. She wants a bite of ham steak.”
She wants a bite of lots of things, lol. ;-)
“Pixel seemed quite interested in the appliance catalogue Jac was reading.”
Pixel is thinking: ‘Where are the goldenrod and olive coloured appliances?’
Breakfast looks delicious. Glad to see this new post, TFP.
Hmm, that does indeed look tasty.
I know what you mean about working on a website after hours. Very slow going. Frustratingly so! :-)

So glad you’re back! Missed you !
breakfast is always super fun…my fav meal of the day :)
Heheh curious kitty! They give such withering looks…like somehow YOU’RE the one losing out for not giving Pixel a piece of ham steak. Hehe
That tomato is cool :) I need a small sharp knife
Great looking breakfast! I haven’t had hamsteaks since….forever! My dad used to make them for us when we were growing up – and top them with pineapple.
Ham steaks.. oh how they stare at me from the deli section. Because one can’t have bacon every day now *sigh*
How nice to have breakfast outdoors. Food looks great as usual. If Pixel had a credit card, he’d be ringing up the stores to place his orders from the catalogue!
wow – that is a fancy tomato!
I love the first pic – it’s almost as if Pixel is saying “feed me now” or “where is mine?”
Looks good.
Ham steaks, are they like the UK equivalent of gammon?
I’ve opened and reopened this post many times in my Reader just so I can be greeted by that hilarious expression on Pixel over and over… I love her!
Good cats.
Haaaaaam….I reckon I’d like 2 ham steaks and just one fried egg.
I feel like having eggs benedict right now! You made me hungry!
I am missing the site soooo much … any updates … I hope you are getting there !!
This looks so gorgeous for such a simple breakfast!
Oh you’re either going to think I am stupid or find this hilarious. I went to your page HOPING you would have an update (b.c i check daily!!!) and SOMEHOW I managed to go into your Laksa archive and I didn’t know it was the archives! So i’m thinking this was a new update and I got to the 2nd page and i’m thinking “my God how much laksa can this lady eat!? and then I managed to finish the archive and realized…it was the archives not a new update. haha, I really cannot believe I did that!
XD LOL carmen, good one!
kissy,
Yes, I do believe ham steaks and gammon are similar.
Melissa,
Pixel used to hate the camera – she would always look away or screw her eyes up all tiny in case the flash came on (I avoid using the flash when photographing the cats, but a couple of accidental flash incidents made her wary)… but now she is a little more relaxed about it and will look right at me/the camera, which is great! But yes, she makes that face a lot, usually when she wants our food.
Fiona,
I learned how to do that fancy tomato thing in cooking class in high school. Heheheh.
Thanks for the comments, everyone. It was a delicious breaky for sure, and more fun thanks to that naughty Pixel.
Work on the new site continues…
Pixel is such an awesome cat!
paahaha. pixel looks a lot like my ralphie.
