With my parents on holiday in Malaysia, the “kids” (my siblings and our partners) decided to meet up for a Sunday dim sum breakfast at Welcome Inn Tea House, Northbridge. This was a significant food milestone for my brother’s daughters, my nieces Ruby (aged 2+) and Zoe (aged 1+) – their first dim sum meal.

Restaurant review – a little on the expensive side, but we didn’t mind, because the service was efficient, the food plentiful and delicious. The highlights for me: fantastic asparagus and the juiciest spinach I’ve eaten in a long time! We’ll be back for sure.

Chicken stroganoff, peas and mashed potato

Another dinner cooked by Jac. As a mushroom lover I was totally thrilled to discover she’d used both tinned and fresh mushrooms in the chicken stroganoff. The fluffy garlic mashed potato soaked up the gravy beautifully.
