Oyster sauce pork mince with green beans and baked beans

I wanted to make minchee, but when I opened the potato keeper, well, let’s just say the potatoes had been long forgotten, were beginning to change state and grow some spectacular horns. :)

So, a change of plan was needed, but only a slight change. I seasoned the pork mince with soy sauce and pepper. I fried chopped onion and garlic in the wok, then added the mince. When the mince began to change colour from raw pink, but before it was completely cooked, I added chopped green beans and a good generous drizzle of oyster sauce to flavour the mixture. By now it was smelling very good indeed. The very last thing I added was half a tin of Heinz baked beans. I probably would’ve just opened and used a whole tin, but I just happened to have the open half tin sitting in the fridge. I stirred it all together, and when the baked beans were heated through, the dish was ready to serve. I ate it with freshly cooked rice, and it was really tasty. There was enough left over for another meal the next day. I loved it. I’ll have to cook it again sometime.
