Another birthday breakfast at Sizzler
Posted @ 6:35 pm under Bacon, Birthdays, Breakfast, Eating out, Family, Restaurant, Sausages, Savoury, Scrambled eggs, SweetJac and I went to Sizzler for breakfast with her family to celebrate her niece Savannah’s birthday. The last time we had breakfast at Sizzler, we were presented with plates of complimentary cheese toast as soon as we sat down. Back then I was a little surprised to get cheese toast at breakfast – I hadn’t expected it at all – I loved it! But this time, there was not a slice of cheese toast in sight. I must admit I was a bit disappointed. :-P
My plate, with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, potato gems, baked beans and savoury mince.
Jac’s plate, with bacon, baked egg, scrambled egg, a croissant with scrambled egg in it, potato gems and mushrooms.
I had a second round with pancakes and maple-flavoured syrup, cream, bacon, sausage and more potato gems. The syrup was really good with the bacon and sausage, but not as good as real maple syrup would’ve been. The heat from the pancakes melted the cream, and it slid across and off the pancakes, as you can see in the photo. I think I enjoyed round two more than round one. I just love bacon, maple syrup and pancakes.
Jac moved onto sweets – on her plate: bread and butter pudding (my eyes lit up when I saw it! I knew I would have to have some! O_O), custard, tinned mango, a pancake, syrup, cream and yoghurt.
Max had also moved onto his breakfast dessert course – chocolate mousse studded with Smarties, sprinkles and choc bits. He put this together himself.
My sweet plate, with bread and butter pudding, custard, cream, a blob of chocolate mousse with a wafer wedged into it, and two cubes of wobbly cold raspberry jelly.
Yes, I had a very big breakfast! No, I didn’t eat lunch that day. :D

The most appetizing plate out of that lot is your 2nd round. I’d probably eat my pancakes with the bacon on top, hehe. I must say though, those sausages look awfully dehydrated – did they taste okay?

They were kind of dry but strangely tasty all the same. If all I had to eat were those wrinkly sausages, I’d have been disappointed, but with everything else on the plate, they were good.

I found this web site yesterday and have had so much fun reading it!I’m really enjoying the differences on your continent from mine. You guys have such an abundance of food choices!I’ a transplanted new englander living in central florida. This is really like living in the smalltown South.Basically we live in the woods. Not much ethnic food around.Enough of my griping!THe KFC and the Hungrey Jacks! I had to laugh seeing the same wrapping as Burger King.Tomato sauce is ketchup, right? No biscuits with KFC?Anyway ,I’m sure I’ll be commenting again because I love your site.Don’t want to write a book here!

Bread and butter pudding is one of my all-time favourite desserts. I don’t have it often so it always goes down a treat! I have some everytime I get the chance. :D

Potato gems = “Tater Tots” here. ;-)
It all looks fabulous, except the bacon’s a bit too underfried for my taste; like it crispy!

I missed this part: “I had a second round with pancakes and maple-flavoured syrup, cream, bacon, sausage and more potato gems. The syrup was really good with the bacon and sausage, but not as good as real maple syrup would’ve been. The heat from the pancakes melted the cream, and it slid across and off the pancakes…”
