A stack of pancakes with berry compote and double cream; perfectly poached eggs with crispy bacon and sweet, grilled ripe tomatoes. French toast with bacon, grilled banana and maple syrup. We enjoyed breakfast at The Goose after dinner there less than 12 hours earlier. That’s what holidays are all about.

Shortly after new year, we stayed three nights in Albany, a town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, approximately 400 km south-east of Perth (4.5 hours by car, or just over an hour by plane). This was our first meal in Albany – an omelette and BLT at Cosi’s Cafe.
