We’re always on the look-out for places that sell nasi lemak. We discovered Mak’Indos Cafe at the Centro Shopping Centre in Victoria Park – the more shopping centres where you can buy nasi lemak, the better! It makes it so much easier to feed our regular nasi lemak cravings.

Gopi Curry Leaf is tucked away in the corner at the Rostrata shopping centre in Willetton. This little gem opens at 7:30am on weekends serving up breakfast specials of nasi lemak, handmade roti and tasty curries. One of my best finds of 2010.

My friend Charlene came over for laksa dinner a few weeks ago. Jac made combination curry laksa, with chicken, prawns, fish cake, tofu, bean sprouts, rice noodles and egg noodles. Charlene impressed the two chilli wusses with her chilli eating feats. Also in this post: the cats.

Restaurant review. Overall the food was good, with Agni’s goat curry and Goan fish curry the highlights, but there were a few disappointments, including buffet items placed out of reach and no bowls for the kheer.

Jac cooked up a chicken and vegetable yellow curry for dinner, then transformed it into soup a couple of days later. We ate the yellow curry soup with homemade garlic bread and salad.

Dinner - Japanese curry with chicken and vegetables

Jac made Japanese chicken curry using Golden Curry Mild mix, with thigh chicken pieces, potato, carrot and green beans. The green beans were a last-minute addition, but I reckon we’ll include them in our Japanese curries at home from now on.
