Taurus Hawker Foods, Willetton

Taurus Hawker Foods is a great place to go if you have a craving for any of the hawker favourites – laksa, nasi lemak, chicken rice, fried kway teow, cendol and so on. Most dishes are available in small or large sizes, but be warned, at Taurus, large is HUGE.

Curry laksa with Charlene

My friend Charlene came over for laksa dinner a few weeks ago. Jac made combination curry laksa, with chicken, prawns, fish cake, tofu, bean sprouts, rice noodles and egg noodles. Charlene impressed the two chilli wusses with her chilli eating feats. Also in this post: the cats.

Restaurant review – Big Bowl Noodle House offers relaxed, no-frills casual dining that reminded me of being in a food hall. If you love noodles, it’s definitely worth checking out. I really thought the pork and prawn wantan were awesome!

Christmas leftovers

Leftover Christmas prawn and turkey noodle stir-fry

We ended up with leftover Christmas turkey, ham and prawns. We froze most of the ham but ate all the turkey and prawns over the next couple of days. This was my favourite dish cooked using the leftovers: a Christmas prawns and turkey noodle stir-fry.

Jac and I had lunch on Christmas day with her family. It was a delicious meatfest followed by rich chocolate cake and lashings of even richer thick, smooth brandy cream.
