While we were packing up the house so it could be painted, things were pretty hectic. Neither of us took time off work – I couldn’t, anyway – I’d resigned from my job and had four weeks notice to work through, so no way was I going to ask for any favours. Believe me, we hadn’t planned for me to change jobs around the same time we sold our house / bought another – it’s just how it happened. It was quite a stressful time…

My niece Zoe (sister of Ruby) was baptised last month, and afterwards we all went back to my brother’s place for lunch. My sister-in-law Ange (Zoe’s mum) had done some cooking, but family and friends brought along dishes too. It was quite a feast!

Turkey minchee puffs

A couple of nights later, Jac came home with a packet of frozen puff pastry. She said she wanted to try making pastry puffs with leftover minchee as the filling. As a fan of both puff pastry and minchee, it sounded fantastic to me!

On the Saturday Jac and I went into the city to find me a wedding outfit (we’d found Jac’s dress in a boutique in Mount Lawley earlier that week), we had lunch in the Carillon Food Hall.
